Bleaching Tips

What kind of bleach?

  • Any brand of laundry bleach will work.

Safety

  • Keep bleach in its white light proof bottle.
  • When exposed to light bleach breaks down and loses some of its power.
  • Keep bleach in the laundry.
  • Pour out a very, very little amount of bleach into a small jar.  Put this jar inside a larger can.
  • Wear old clothes or apron.

Tools

  • Use brushes with nylon bristles.
  • Bleach will eat away natural animal bristle/hair brushes in no time!
  • Don’t put bleach in a water barrel brush.  It’s too messy and unnecessary.
  • Just dip the brush into the bleach to use its nylon bristles.
