STITCH EXPLANATION:
sp-2 (spike st 2 rows below) A single crochet worked in the st corresponding to the next st, but 2 rows
below the working row (instead of in the usual st 1 row below the working row).
COLOR SEQUENCE
*1 row A, 1 row B, 1 row C, 1 row D, 1 row E, 1 row F, 1 row G; rep from * for color sequence.
NOTES:
1. Unused colors should be carried up wrong side of work.
2. To change color, work last stitch to the point where there are 2 loops on hook, yarn over with new color to complete stitch.
FRONTWith A, ch 40.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across; change to B in last st – 39 sc.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in first 3 sc, (sc in next st 2 rows below (sp-2 made), sc in next 3 sts) across; change to C in last st.
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, sc in first sc, (sp-2 over next st, sc in next 3 sts) across to last 2 sts, sp-2 over next st, sc in last sc; change to D in last st.
Continuing in Color Sequence, rep Rows 2 and 3 for pattern until 33 rows have been worked, end with 1 row E.
Row 34 (Eyelet Row): With F, ch 1, turn, sc in first sc, ch 1, skip next st, sc in next st, (sp-2 over next st, sc in next st,
ch 1, skip next st, sc in next st) across; change to G in last st.
Continue to work in Color Sequence and pattern for 5 more rows. Fasten off.
