The kit will make three ornaments and the three color choices can be mixed and matched. One ornament uses 2 body pieces, 2 wings, 2 eyes and 1 nose piece.
Supplied in kit are felt pieces, DMC floss, and Fiberfil.
You need to supply a sewing needle and a fabric or tacky glue.
Tip: Use glue to tack down eye, nose and wing pieces before stitching. Just a small bit of glue in center of piece is all you need.
1) Using the buttonhole stitch (or backstitch) , attach eye and nose pieces to front body piece. Add smyrna cross stitch to center of eye.
2) Buttonhole stitch inside edges of wings to front body piece. Save doing the outer edge for when you attach back body piece together with the front piece.
3) Match up back and front body pieces and starting at lower left corner, buttonhole stitch around entire shape stopping at lower right corner area.
4) Lightly stuff owl with Fiberfil. Tip: Use tip of pencil to move Fiberfil up to head area.
5) With stuffing contained inside, continue to buttonhole stitch across bottom to finish.
6) Add loop of floss on top of head for a hanging loop.
